Part II: Victoria Thomasch's 4th Annual Recital for Refugees

UPDATE: date, time, and more information for mezzo-soprano Victoria Thomasch’s “4th Annual Recital for Refugees”. All donations accrued for this fundraising concert will benefit the International Refugee Committee. Victoria will also perform the world premiere of my piece commissioned for this concert, a duo for guitar and voice “Tratando de Ser”/”Trying to Be”, based on stanzas I. and II. of “Tratando de Ser”/”Trying to Be” of “Song of the Borderlands” from Meditación Fronteriza: Poems of Love, Life, and Labor by Norma Elia Cantú.

Norma Elia Cantú is a Chicana postmodernist writer and the Murchison Professor in the Humanities at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
