On April 21st, 2018, the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley's Edinburg campus held an event of masterclasses, workshops, and concerts all dedicated to the artistry of classical guitar - "Día de la Guitarra".
As part of the "Día de la Guitarra" festivities, an "Ensemble Showcase" was presented featuring performances from several Rio Grande Valley schools and colleges prior to the evening's concert by French classical guitar virtuoso, Judicael Perroy.
"La Isla" for guitar ensemble was premiered at the UTRGV Edinburg Performing Arts Complex by the guitar students of Laredo Community College, directed by the LCC Guitar Director, Dr. Matthew Bishop.
The Laredo Community College guitar performers: Andres Cisneros, Rodrigo Esparza, Saul Perez, Ronaldo Ramirez, and Cristobal Veloz.
